Another Inspirational Woman: Makeover and Photo Shoot at the Studio

This November day was dark and gloomy but the studio was all lit up by this woman’s spirit and energy. She has amazing skin, a charming smile and a contagious laugh.Abelle Glamour studio portrait photography session.

We sorted through her suitcase and pulled together a number of different outfits to create a custom magazine-style photo shoot for her. One that included some business attire and other outfits for beautiful personal portraits. These images are precious for Terrie. Over time, they will be even more significant for her two children.

This woman is a force to be reckoned with. I am grateful our paths crossed and that I was able to have her come in for a photo shoot. To say we had fun is an understatement. We would do this every week!

During our pre-shoot consultation, she warned me a number of times that I would be challenged with a strange smile that was way too large and squinty eyes. She booked this photo shoot for many personal reasons. However, professionally these images are significant. She is redesigning her life as a mother, a wife, a friend, a business professional and a woman.
This session revealed a number of things: that she is a woman and not the tomboy she may be perceived to be; that she is not only smart but attractive; that she has more strengths than she thought and, that the camera loves her.

Where were you during this last snow storm? I was snowed in. In Sutton. Snow heaven. With St-Patrick’s day a couple of days away, I felt the Celtic vibe. So I played with glass and shot these portraits. In natural window light. In the recreational room. Next to the piano.

This is Edith, mother of two and professional organizer at Haven Maven. If you don’t know what a professional organizer does, then find out. Everyone needs one at one time or other. This service will transform your life. We had already shot a corporate head shot session and created a casting portfolio for Edith. This session was a styled beauty photography session.

Dream, Girl Film Screening: Thought Provoking

Dream Girl Movie Poster

I was lucky enough to attend the screening of the movie Dream Girl at the Brockville Arts Centre. I admit I had no clue what this movie, this movement was all about until I viewed the film. I was quite moved by it. Firstly, because visually the images are superb. The mastery of light and camera angles are perfect.

Erin Bagwell and Komal Minhas are the producers of Dream, Girl.

Secondly, this movie brings to light the stories of a number of different women in the business world.

Did you know that?

I am sure everyone’s reaction to the movie is different. For my part, as an small business owner, the stories of these women entrepreneurs push me to continue doing what I do: promoting the inner beauty of every woman through the beauty makeover and glamour photography experience I provide through the photography studio banner: Abelle. The experience isn’t vain. It is about self-acceptance, inner strength, inner beauty, transformation and validation. And that, is totally A-Ok.
