These lovebirds exude youthfulness and vitality. They are creative and talented musicians. To photograph them was a treat. This wedding took place at the end of a glorious warm summer. The groom’s last name inspired the peacock theme and the navy and green colour scheme.
The venue is superb. Set on the side of the St-Lawrence Seaway, at the mouth of the Thousand Island in Maitland, Ontario, is Maplehurst Manor and Carriage House: “a magnificent Georgian Style Manor overlooking the beautiful St. Lawrence River.“ The historical manor has a Downton Abbey feel.
The bride revealed her gown to her father before the ceremony. This “Father Reveal“ was very touching.
The couple didn’t wish to see each other before the ceremony for a first look. However, they shared a prayer prior to the ceremony. This was another emotional moment.
Sophia is a brilliant musician and has a voice that is divine. She surprised and treated her family and friends by playing one of her own compositions.

A special thank you to the staff at Homewood Museum in Maitland, Ontario. They gladly let us photograph the couple on the museum’s grounds. It is one of Ontario’s oldest houses that is well worth a visit.
